We are happy to announce that Dolly Vyas-Ahuja’s award winning documentary, The Land of Ahimsa will Premiere on the Plant Based News Youtube Channel on Thursday, November 17th, 2022, at 9am EST. Dolly and Sailesh will be responding to chat questions during the Premiere, following which, the video of the full documentary will be available for FREE to the public.

The Land Of Ahimsa received a Certificate of Excellence at the WRPN Women’s International Film Festival and won the Best Documentary award at the Hong Kong World Film Festival. We believe that other accolades will surely follow in the coming months.

Is India really the Land of Ahimsa? Or is there a dark, cruel underbelly that Indian society refuses to see? This feature-length documentary follows Dolly Vyas-Ahuja on her journey to veganism. Dolly narrates and produces the film alongside Bollywood actor Aryeman, who directs.

Why is this film important?

The Land Of Ahimsa aims to Inform, Inspire and Transform (IIT) Indians to reclaim their heritage of “Ahimsa” and lead the world towards a healthy, vibrant and peaceful lifestyle. It will also encourage viewers all around the world to practice “Ahimsa,” nonviolent behaviors.

Watching the film will make viewers feel motivated and empowered to change the world starting with the food they eat to the way they treat others. Everyone has an inner activist who seeks truth and justice and this film aims to bring out this inner voice. Please come with Dolly on her journey and meet all the inspiring people she encounters.

Dolly has interviewed plant-based doctors, athletes, animal activists, entrepreneurs, and visited sanctuaries to illustrate the importance of “Ahimsa” in action in India and across the globe. They demonstrate how by rising to the true meaning of the word, we will be able to create a nonviolent world which will relieve suffering of all living beings, optimize our health and wellness, save the animals and heal our planet.

The Land Of Ahimsa has been subtitled in English and 12 local languages: Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Urdu, Nepalese, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam.
