Realizing an American Dream

“Imagine the world as it should be and work for it, instead of the world as it is” – Cinderella Principle #3.

Dear Climate Healers Family,

We just had a pair of political conventions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois vying to make America a beacon of hope and freedom for the world, but with a lack of specificity on how that can actually be accomplished.

Here is a specific proposal for accomplishing this objective.

Our planetary home is on fire. In December 2023, over 200 health journals called on the United Nations (UN), political leaders and health professionals to recognize that the myriad environmental crises we face today are truly one indivisible crisis and must be tackled together to preserve health and avoid catastrophe. This overall environmental crisis is now so severe as to be a global health emergency.

In order to be a beacon of hope and freedom for the world, the US government can make this global health emergency declaration and follow through with concrete action to solve this one indivisible environmental crisis – with engineering integrity.

Over the past century and especially over the past three decades since the UN Rio Summit, the life-support systems on our planet have become dangerously frayed.

The Stockholm Resilience Center has identified six severe violations in the life-support systems of the planet: biosphere integrity, novel entities, biogeochemical flows, climate change, land system change and freshwater change. Any one of these violations is sufficient to end life as we know it, if allowed to fester.

In a layman’s terms, we humans have disappeared half the trees on the planet, destroyed a majority of the forests, decimated wildlife, marinated the planet in trillions of tons of toxic industrial chemicals, choked the ocean with plastic waste and fertilizer runoffs, while altering the nitrogen, phosphorous, carbon and water cycles of the planet to life-threatening levels. We did all this while heating up the climate of our planet and preventing the Earth from returning back to another ice age.

We have pretended that we can solve all these environmental problems by switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, while growing the economy and continuing our climate heating “American way of life” unchanged.

In truth, repairing the life support systems of our planet is a collaborative engineering project of greater magnitude, scope and importance than the Apollo moon landing project, ultimately involving all 8 billion human beings in its execution as we transform to a climate HEALing civilization from a climate heating civilization.

In a nutshell, if the world goes Vegan and rewilds the planet, restoring most of the 3 trillion trees that we disappeared over the past 10,000 years, that can go a long way towards solving all six severe violations in the life-support systems of the planet.

Yet this engineering task has been managed with a stupefying level of incompetence for the past three decades due to political meddling in the scientific process, as well as the bipartisan insistence of past US governments that the “American way of life is not negotiable.”

The Nobel laureate, Harold Pinter suggested that US foreign policy can be defined as, “Kiss my ass or I’ll kick your head in.” He clarified, “Of course, the US doesn’t put it like that. It talks of “low intensity conflict…” What all this adds up to is a disease at the very center of language, so that language becomes a permanent masquerade, a tapestry of lies.”

There are lies about what exactly is causing the life support systems of the planet to be frayed, solely blaming our fossil fuel infrastructure. There are lies about protein and calcium inserted into textbooks of school children so that they can be lured into unhealthy dietary habits, both in America and abroad. The objective appears to be to turn our children into future chronic disease patients in order to prop up the massive health care, er disease care industry.

Such lies, especially in children’s textbooks, are not endearing to Americans, let alone the rest of the world. Indeed, insisting on imposing this American way of life throughout the world when the planet is on fire is like insisting on going ahead with a planned banquet in the formal dining room when the kitchen is on fire.

It defies common sense.

When the US government makes up for the past intransigence of its predecessors with this global health emergency declaration and empowers a competent engineering team to execute on the necessary life support systems repair recommendations without political interference, a la the ‘60s Apollo moon landing project, the rest of the world will heave a sigh of relief and begin to look on America favorably.

Such a global health emergency declaration lets the world know that America truly believes all life is one family, regardless of race, color, gender, national identity or even species boundary.

The world is our neighbor. We look out for them and they look out for us.

There is still sufficient resources on planet Earth to solve our problems.

At the moment, there are 31 million well-fed humans floating around on cruise ships annually, almost twice as many as the 17 million hungry humans on refugee boats fleeing climate disasters annually.

Around 30 million people die from chronic diseases of excess annually, while 8 million people die of hunger or hunger related causes annually.

Therefore, the planet still has sufficient resources for us to create a system of peace where everybody belongs and everybody has a responsibility to contribute.

As adults, our first responsibility is to ensure our children and grandchildren are healthy and safe. If the world can feed 90 billion land animals every year, it can feed 8 billion humans in the absence of those poor, cruelly exploited land animals leading miserable shortened lives.

When America ensures that every child in the world gets fed a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, then America will truly become a beacon of hope and freedom throughout the world.

A Call to Action:

If this message has touched your heart and you want to act, then here are 3 easy steps YOU can take NOW to ACTUALLY make this happen:

1) Say out loud to yourself, THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! IF you really mean it, take the next two steps.
2) Write down the names of three people who will listen to you when you speak. Not that they are presupposed in any way, just that they will listen to you when you speak.
3) In the next 30 minutes, forward them this entire message with a simple personal statement that you think this needs to happen and you would like them to take these actions with you.

With much love,
Sailesh on behalf of the Climate Healers Core team.
