Thank You for Helping Us Widen the Circle of Compassion

Dear Friends,

As we reflect on the first International Calf and Cow Mother’s Day, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who participated, organized events, shared stories, created artwork, hosted vigils, prepared plant-based meals, attended educational gatherings, and helped spread the message of compassion.

What began as a simple idea—to honor the bond between mothers and their children across species—became a global expression of compassion, education, creativity, and collective action.

Together, we invited people to pause and consider a truth that transcends culture, politics, and religion: the love between a mother and her child matters.

Whether we witnessed a cow calling for her calf, a bird feeding her young, or a grandmother embracing her grandchild, we were reminded that care, connection, and devotion are woven throughout the living world.

Gratitude to Our Co-Conveners

International Calf and Cow Mother’s Day was made possible through the dedication of countless individuals and organizations who share a vision of a more compassionate world.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our co-conveners, partners, speakers, sanctuary leaders, educators, artists, advocates, and volunteers who helped bring this vision to life.

Each conversation, presentation, gathering, and act of outreach helped people connect with the often-overlooked stories of mothers and babies in the dairy industry and inspired meaningful dialogue about compassion, justice, and care.

This event demonstrated what becomes possible when people from diverse backgrounds unite around shared values of kindness, respect, and compassion.

What We Learned

Throughout the weekend, participants reflected on the realities faced by cows and calves in modern dairy production and explored how their daily choices can help create a kinder future.

Many shared stories of health transformation, environmental stewardship, animal advocacy, and family traditions evolving toward more compassionate practices.

Most importantly, we witnessed people listening deeply to one another, sharing videos, recipes, stories, and art with curiosity and openness.

Real change begins with awareness.

Awareness creates the conditions for compassionate action.

Building Planet B: Hungerless

The conversations sparked during International Calf and Cow Mother’s Day naturally lead us to a larger question:

What kind of world are we creating together?

At Planet B: Hungerless, we envision a future where healthy food is accessible to everyone, where communities nourish one another, and where food systems support the well-being of people, animals, and the Earth.

Planet B is not about escaping the challenges we face. It is about creating practical solutions.

It is about growing food, sharing food, reducing waste, restoring ecosystems, supporting regenerative practices, and building communities rooted in cooperation rather than competition.

Every community garden, every food-sharing initiative, every plant-based meal, and every act of mutual aid helps bring this vision closer to reality.

Together Around Food: Food as a Human Right

It is about practice.

Each meal is an opportunity to align our values with our actions and widen our circle of compassion.

Looking Ahead

The first International Calf and Cow Mother’s Day was only the beginning.

We are already planning future gatherings, educational programs, storytelling projects, Compassion Games missions, Planet B initiatives, and community food programs that help build a kinder and more compassionate world.

The challenges facing our planet can feel overwhelming, but this gathering reminded us of something important:

Change happens one conversation, one meal, one garden, one act of kindness at a time.

Thank you for being part of this growing movement.

Together, we are helping create a world where compassion extends beyond ourselves and embraces all beings and the living Earth we share.

Re educate
our world.

Watch, learn and share.

It starts with Education. Eye-opening webinars that lay bare the untruths we are told, and which shine a light on the abuses of our planet and nature all carried out in the name of economic ‘growth’.
