28 Jun The Planet B Chronicles: 45. Days 4-6 of Together Around Food
“Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come” – Victor Hugo.
Dear Climate Healers,
Perhaps, Jack is having the most fun during Together Around Food (TAF) in Port Townsend. He has been taking photographs of people, converting it into AI art at the library and creating an album for display at the Tri-Area Community Center.
We didn’t realize that the Peninsula Daily News had published an article about TAF on Jun 20th. As a result, inquiries are now coming from residents in distant towns such as Port Angeles and Sequim, for example,
“Hello, I just read about what you are doing in our local paper and am very interested in helping out! I live in Port Angeles, and I am wondering if you are planning on doing this in my town?”
Of course, our goal is to demonstrate Together Around Food as a turn key project that any community can implement around the world as disaster relief for the Planetary PolyCrisis Emergency while they improve the resilience of their local environment and get it rewilded.
The health aspect of TAF has been truly impactful. On Day 5, Ann said that she was able to walk the dogs and return home pain-free for the first time in years. On Day 6, she said that she came down the stairs two steps at a time, while she could previously only come down one step at time, while walking sideways.
Stories like these are making the rounds in the community. Ann told us that she has been asking all her friends to come on over and try the food themselves. Some of them have done so, while a few others are keeping a distance for fear of being “lured into a cult.”
The number of people coming for meals has been increasing daily. On Day 6, we had a full house for both lunch and dinner as we served over 200 meals on that day.
We are now scouting for a different location to accommodate the bigger crowds, with the help of the local county government officials. Please stay tuned.
The website has the latest information, including a detailed scheduled of the meals that are served each day. Jane Velez-Mitchell interviewed us on Day 5 and you can watch the video here:

The idea that access to free, healthy, gourmet, vegan food should be a basic human right and a shared community responsibility is resonating with everyone. As Victor Hugo wrote, “Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come.”
Onward to a Vegan World!
Help Needed
If TAF resonates with you as much as it does with us, please
a) donate here to support its implementation so that we can access the $10K matching grant from VegFund. We are still about $7K short at the moment;
b) post about TAF in your networks;
c) come on over to Port Townsend and volunteer with us, if you can manage your own accommodations;
With much love,
Let’s work together, and work fast, or by 2026 it will be too late. The damage done will be irreversible. We can do it.
