The Planet B Chronicles: 17. A Luminous Planet B Icon

Do not go gentle into the good night” – Dylan Thomas.

Dear Climate Healers,

Her light has not gone out in our lives. Her light burns bright in our minds.

Dr. Jane Goodall may have breathed her last, but her gentle presence and loving kindness will be etched in our memories forever. What a way to go, serving till her very last day!

Sometimes, amidst all the complexity of our technological world, all the noise and urgency of climate reports and industrial damage, it’s a whisper from the forest that reminds us of who we truly are.

That whisper was often the voice of Dr. Jane Goodall.

Her presence in this world had always felt like that of a wise elder of the forest, gentle, clear-eyed, and patient, but make no mistake, her words have shaken institutions. From her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees in Gombe to her tireless global advocacy, Dr. Goodall has shown us that every life matters. Not just human life. Every life.

She spoke softly, but her message was revolutionary: We are not above Nature. We are of Nature.

That is not a metaphor. That is biology. And more importantly, that is ethics.

In our collective work to co-create Planet B, a world rooted in Ahimsa, nonviolence towards all beings, Dr. Goodall is a luminous thread in the tapestry. She reminded us that kindness is a strength, that listening is a form of activism, and that reverence for Life is the true marker of intelligence.

We live in an age of extinction, of collapse, and also, of metamorphosis. As we move away from our Caterpillar phase of endless extraction and into our Butterfly phase of reverent regeneration, let us carry her teachings in our hearts. Let us remember that every choice we make, especially the food we put on our plates, is a vote: for life or for death, for domination or for compassion.

Jane chose life. Jane chose listening. Jane chose love.

Let’s make that choice with every breath.

Join us this weekend for a dialogue

As we work to transform our world, we must also transform how we relate to one another. In the vegan movement centered on love, differing views on climate or any other topic are common, since love comes with the freedom to choose our own viewpoints. I am honored to join Dr. Will Tuttle and The Vegan Community for a vital conversation on how to navigate differing views on climate:

Healing Polarization on Climate Change: Considerations for Effective Vegan Advocacy
– October 4 – 2 PM PT/5 PM ET
– October 5 – 7 AM Brisbane
– Moderated by Clare Mann

This is more than a discussion—it’s a step toward clarity, understanding and more effective vegan advocacy.

Join us at V-COP23

Please join us in Toronto for the Vegan Convergence Of the Peoples #23 (V-COP23) on Nov 1-2 to help shape and implement our system design plan for Planet B. The theme for V-COP23 is offered by our co-host, Plant Based Treaty: Redirect, Relinquish, Restore::

Redirect our focus from fixing Planet A to building Planet B.
Relinquish the excess resources we have taken from the planet.
Restore the life-support systems of the planet with the relinquished resources.

Please be there and help make history.

With much love,

Sailesh on behalf of the Climate Healers Core team. Re educate
our world.

Watch, learn and share.

It starts with Education. Eye-opening webinars that lay bare the untruths we are told, and which shine a light on the abuses of our planet and nature all carried out in the name of economic ‘growth’.
