Dear Climate Healers,

We are living in extraordinary times. Take the richest country in the world today: the United States of America. It is in the midst of the largest deportation program in its history. Despite that, groceries are still too expensive, housing is still unaffordable, health care costs are still skyrocketing, wages still aren’t keeping up with inflation, and jobs are disappearing.

An estimated 24% of American households are earning less income than their expenses and therefore, getting deeper and deeper into debt, month after month. As jobs hemorrhage, there is no sign that these households will ever dig out of their debt spiral in the foreseeable future. Consequently, in the University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey released on Friday, Americans rated current economic conditions as the worst in the past fifty years.

If the richest nation in the world is having such difficulties meeting the basic needs of its people, it does not bode well for other nations seeking to solve similar problems in the same system. Indeed, these problems are not just caused by immigrants or failed policies, but they are a consequence of systemic factors.

Today, the world stands at a crossroads. In addition to our economic, political and societal problems, the collapse of ecosystems, the cries of animals silenced by industries of exploitation, and the apparent disconnection between humans and Nature are not coincidences, but symptoms of legacy human-engineered systems that are operating well past their use-by date. But within these symptoms also lie the seeds of transformation.

Legacy systems built on false foundational myths of human supremacy, separation from Nature and endless economic growth are failing because they have run up against the limits of the planet. Now, billionaires are openly bailing on planet Earth, urging the construction of new industrial infrastructure on celestial bodies such as the Moon (Jeff Bezos) and Mars (Elon Musk).

But we don’t have to follow their self-serving advice. We know that There IS a Planet B! Indeed, Planet B is already being built all around us (see map above).

I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt invitation to join forces in 2026 under the shared vision of Planet B—a systems engineering framework grounded in compassion, humility, and the urgent need for a just and sustainable world. Planet B envisions the deliberate re-configuration of human engineered systems to be in alignment with the life support systems of our planet.

In essence, Planet B is:

• A systems-based solution to the ecological crises, based on principles of veganism, sustainability, fairness, and reverence for all life.
• A metaphor for a regenerative future where humans live in harmony with Nature and all life.
• A call to spiritual, cultural, and lifestyle transformation, beginning with the immediate elimination of animal agriculture and rewilding of the planet.

Planet B is not a different physical planet — it is our Earth, transformed by our choices into a thriving, equitable, and life-affirming home for all beings.

The time has come for vegans and vegan organizations around the world to realize our collective strength. Each of us has worked tirelessly for animal liberation, planetary healing, social justice, and human health, but when we channel our energies together, we amplify our impact through unified action.

The Planet B vision offers such a unifying framework. It’s a call to implement the Greatest Transformation in human history toward a compassionate, life-affirming, restorative civilization, along with a new identity for humanity: Homo Ahimsa, as beautifully envisioned by Judy Carman.

This is not just about solving our problems. It is a core values transformation—a deeply spiritual, cultural, and whole systems transformation that recognizes all life as sacred. As emphasized in the books Carbon Dharma, Carbon Yoga, and There IS a Planet B, this metamorphosis must be rooted in urgent, compassionate, restorative action, as if our planetary home is on fire—because it is.

The four portals of veganism—compassion, health, ecology, and spirituality—give us the ethical and practical basis to work together across traditions, disciplines, and cultures, to put out the fire and rebuild our planetary home.

Let us come together in this moment of desperate need:

To co-create an inclusive, strategic alliance under the Planet B umbrella.
To align on common messaging and campaigns that center the animals, planetary health, justice, and human wellbeing.
To support the vegan rewilding solution as a pathway to true planetary and personal healing.

2026 is a critical year for us. The exponential momentum that we built until 2019 was temporarily stalled as the meat and dairy industry fought back, but they only managed to bottle up a volcano. They didn’t and couldn’t address the health, ecological, ethical and spiritual root causes for that original exponential growth of our beloved movement.

Now, we need to restore a semblance of sanity to the mainstream discourse that is currently dominated by billionaires and their quirky, extraterrestrial schemes. The good news is that mainstream audiences are now paying attention to our message.

Our Planet B academic paper just got published in the prestigious, peer-reviewed Journal of Planetary Health. Now that we have the data and the systems knowledge, the need of the hour is to turn this data and knowledge into moral stories that awaken and inspire people all over the world. Like the song we received last week:
